For your consideration: C9 Unitas
Re: For your consideration: C9 Unitas
Option D looks best to me...
Clean, modern yet traditional mix.
Not too sure about etching the exhib' back? (looks a bit "cheap")
Saying that I would still prefer a Trident GMT (in a different colour combo than offered - Orange Doxa style would be good and save me buying a Doxa )

Of the offerings, Option A looks the best to me. The dial on C & D look a little spartan, whilst the hands on B & D are too fussy for me.
The trouble then is that it looks a lot like the C1 I already have. So given the other consideration of the GMT it has to get a "not my cup of tea".

Re: For your consideration: C9 Unitas
First a question... why centre seconds and sub-seconds? Is this an error, or a movement I don't know about.
I prefer the Breguet hands on this style of watch, and think that the minute tracks help to bring interest to the face. I'd like to see the brown faced one mocked up with a gold case.
So, of these; B, but I have not voted yet. I'm not sure if I'd like in in gold or not at all.

Re: For your consideration: C9 Unitas
Not sure about these, I take it from the reference to Unitas in the title that this would be the 17 jewel hand wound, so would have the sub seconds but not the centre second hand.
Not sure about the case on the C9, 43mm is OK but does it have the 20mm lugs as on the C9 GMT that downer sent back, that would probably finish it for me as it would then come with the narrow 20/18mm strap.

No more Quartz (except when I cannot resist).

Here is an image of option B in the gold case for those that are curious.
I might add that the center second hand is a mistake on all the drawings of this model. These would be a sub second only.
It is possible that this could be done in a C8 case. We would have to check the limitations if any.Of course this would then be a 44mm case but the strap size would be 22mm.

At the moment, I'm in the "not for me" camp. I wonder if the Blue Type B has some promise. The shade of blue is wrong in my opinion. Something darker and far more classic might improve it a bit. The markers/hands would probably need to change colour as well.
I also have the concern about the C9 case - relating to the lug width. This could possibly be overcome with a 20:20 strap.

Re: For your consideration: C9 Unitas
A bit torn here. I have wanted a C1 style with Unitas movement even before I joined the forum. Love the brown C1 and the traditional white face blued hands. Been waiting sooo long have been looking and saving for the Steinhart Marine. If I get that I may not buy this. I probabley will as it is a limited forum edition. I might prefer the C60 GMT in red as it is in red. If the red one doesn't win I don't want another colour as waiting for the Teal C60 and don't want lots of similar divers. I want the C9 but there is still the steinhart (or even Stowa). I am now. Must lie down.
Re: For your consideration: C9 Unitas
Unfortunately, not my style at all, I think a handwound more in a style like the c8 mk2 might work better, with a very simple uncluttered dial?

Re: For your consideration: C9 Unitas
Not keen on the brown dial with silver case but looks OK with gold but I can not see that many forum members going for gold.
I like the blue dial but not the yellow writing. The silver dial with blue hands is classic but a bit too much then like the last LE.
I am not keen on a manual wind although I know a number of members are so it is strange how little love there is for this.
43mm C9 v 44mm C8 - both seem a bit big for a plain watch.

Not sure why there is a big thing about 20mm lugs. The Seiko Monstor is 42mm with 20mm lugs and no-one complains about that. If the lugs look right with the case then I am not fussed about lug width unless it looks silly.alphajet wrote:Not sure about the case on the C9, 43mm is OK but does it have the 20mm lugs as on the C9 GMT that downer sent back, that would probably finish it for me as it would then come with the narrow 20/18mm strap.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of Kip and Hans (sorry guys), I have taken the liberty of modifying this mock-up a little - trying to tone it down some...
