What should be the basis for the new LE?
Re: What should be the basis for the new LE?
As it looks like it's a straight choice between a C8 or Trident and I'm not a fan of the C8...

Re: What should be the basis for the new LE?
That's only from the choices we were offered. There are two C8 in the existing non- FE line-up and more divers than you can shake a stick at! What are we going to be offered a variation in colour??? What about something new? C90 or C9 based? Or why not roll out a new design from some of the ones shown at the recent get together?Jabbawok wrote:As it looks like it's a straight choice between a C8 or Trident and I'm not a fan of the C8...

I think we are only talking about the BASIS of the LE - in other words, the basic case structure. The dial, movement and detailed finishing can surely be debated later. Doesn't this mean there is scope for a great watch using either the C8 or the Trident as a starting point?Galton321 wrote:That's only from the choices we were offered. This point had escaped me I must admit. That's quite worrying, if it takes this while to decide on the box how long's it going to take to decide the contents? If that's the case (no pun intended) then of the two I'd go for the C8 as it gives a better blank canvas. Go with the Trident and you de facto end up with another diver which I confess all look alike to me. But let's start with a C90 case.

Re: What should be the basis for the new LE?
From Androo's post on another thread...
So ... how about black dial for the public and teal for the forum - or vice-versa?
As you can see, I'm coming round to the Trident
The original Trident picture...androo wrote:I sent an email to Mr Ward yesterday and got a reply back within a couple of hours <snip><snip>On the forum Kip has said you intend to release the Trident in the teal colour. When will this be happening and will the dial be teal or black?[chris] undecided...I prefer black ...the team prefers teal...we are still chewing it over I liked the prototype picture with the teal dial and bezel.
[chris] hmmm I may be out voted!<snip>
The question of the teal vs black dial - I liked the look of the teal but it might be debated . I may be in a minority - discuss

But as has been discussed here that is not teal.

It is however a nice RAF type light blue/grey colour which is nice as well.

I always thought of teal on the blue side of green rather than the green side of blue.ianblyth wrote:But as has been discussed here that is not teal.

Some teals are here.
So the Teal Blue would suit me.

Exactly - Teal Blue as described by wikipedia. Perfect.

As you may have gathered divers are very popular around here but I'm with you, please not another diver!Tosh wrote:C8 or 9. Not a diver
