Trident mk3 vs Omega SMP
A good review and comparison I thought between the Trident mk3 42mm white dial vs the Omega SMP white dial also 42mm.
The CW does compare very favourably with the reviewer, Random Rob.

That SMP gives me so much more fizz than the C60! But agree, the CW does well in a contest.

Re: Trident mk3 vs Omega SMP
The Omega is far more legible than the CW and has a better dial balance (mainly for the obvious reasons). I prefer the dial blobs over the batons and I'd have concerns about the legibility of the CW in certain light conditions.
That said the CW is good value for money but given the choice (and cash) I'd go Omega every time

For me the C60 is nice... The SMP just has that special 'something' and its not just the brand caché
Also agree re the blobs vs batons!

The less said about the "Fizz" the better if you are a TG viewer and remember that chat

Re: Trident mk3 vs Omega SMP
I'd probably agree with you and of course the brand cache is an attraction as is the Master Co-Axial movement.neilj568 wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 8:10 am The Omega is far more legible than the CW and has a better dial balance (mainly for the obvious reasons). However the review concluded, not controversially imo, that the CW lume, bezel and bracelet were actually superior to the Omega.
It was interesting that he compared the bracelet on a watch to the alloys (rims) on a car. They are perhaps overlooked a little but are very important to the overall "look" of any car/watch. It wasn't an analogy I'd heard before but actually is quite true.
If money were no object the Omega, however it costs SIX times the CW, yet again CW delivers great bang per buck.

Re: Trident mk3 vs Omega SMP
I honestly think the CW looks better, particularly the bracelet and for some reason I have a real issue with the date window not being aligned to the crown.

Re: Trident mk3 vs Omega SMP
Well, I'll watch the video before commenting fully.
It's easy to prefer the look of watch A over the look of watch B.
I don't own the current iteration of Seamaster though I do have previous versions. Alongside them I keep CW C60s in all three generations: the one stand-out difference between the two watches? The CW case is much deeper.
UPDATE: some interesting stuff came out there. I wish he'd got all his figures and discount codes jotted down but the guy expressed what we've known for years: one Omega or six Christopher Wards.

Re: Trident mk3 vs Omega SMP
Ironically a few months after posting this review, I went and tried on and bought the Omega. The reviewer preferred the lume, bracelet and bezel of the CW. I can't comment on the CW as I haven't handled one, although with respect to the SMP. The bracelet seemed ok albeit with a very long clasp but ultimately I just went for the rubber strap, lume is excellent so the CW must be great too, the bezel I have read a few reviews saying the SMP bezel was stiff but I find it very smooth and no issue at all.
The CW still looks a great option too for a fraction of the price.
