Urban Gentry Review of the C65 Trident GMT

Post by mvlow »

The Urban Gentry Channel just posted a video review of the C65 Trident GMT. Interestingly he used my wrist shot from my review on this forum in his video at 4:12, so I guess he must be a member of this forum.

Could be a member, Malcolm, but equally might not. Your review might have showed up in a google search and the image captured, as I’m guessing he did with the picture of Chris, Mike and Peter.

^^^I agree with Steve. I’ve googled watches that have thrown up pics that link back to here. Even found one of my own wrist shots on googly images!

A pretty fair and very positive review from TGV.

I thought it was a good review. He has a huge following, so when he positively reviews a watch it probably boosts sales. CW was smart to lend him the watch for a review.

Agreed and they let him keep it. He says at the end of the video he will be giving it away in a competition.

Thats interesting. I just asked my wife to do a Google search and she found my review and was able to read it even though she isn't a member of the forum. I guess I assumed wrongly that because this is a private membership forum that the public would not be able to read our posts.

It's not a big deal that he used my image without permission, but as he is in the money making business with his Youtube Channel it would have been polite for him to ask to use someone else's content in his video before posting it.

I used to publish a lot of my landscape photography on social media and lost count of the amount of times people would use my images without asking permission for business websites etc. Some would even crop out my watermark in order to get free content.

Malcolm, if you look at the bottom of the Board Index page it always tells you the number of members and guests online.

As far as I know the only things guests can’t see and you can are the Sales Corner areas that become visible after the statutory 5 posts.

I think that’s normal for most forums. I guess most people wouldn’t join if they couldn’t see what it was about.

That makes sense. I am a member of some private Facebook groups that are completely private so non members can't see the posts. That is probably why I assumed this was a private forum.

Half the video comments are about the branding, word mark and positioning. And how most seem to hate it and would not buy because of that. But they surely must all be wrong..

But it's a popular channel and good to see a CW review again.

Excellent review and agree with a huge step up with the new case shape and finishing, and subtlety of the faux lume. Really done right. Excited to see what other strides forward they make with a revised C60.
