This popped up in a Spotify 'Rock Live' playlist.

An iconic song sung by an iconic singer;-

Summertime - Janis Joplin.

Mind you, I'd love to hear Beth Hart sing this.

I remember the Alarm (Welsh band iirc) and a couple of their songs including 68 Guns which was a good singalong anthem of the time.

I was more a fan of Big Country, great Scottish band with a distinctive sound and style. Sadly Stuart Adamson took his own life at a fairly young age.

I was listening to a Podcast about CRISPR and I am trying not to have a bunch of dystopic waking nightmares.

^^^^ Might be a topic for another thread, but was the podcast a discussion about CRISPR the company, or the technology of gene manipulation? The terminalogy has become somewhat interchangeable.

Mostly about the technology. I was being a little dramatic in my previous post. Not truly terrified but one can imagine how things could get... interesting...

Saw The Snuts at Reading festival, in a small side tent. Great little band from Glasgow, this playlist is their new album WL. If you watch much TV, you may notice some riffs that have been used on Sky Sports and an advert or two.

A couple of songs I've listened to in the last few days

A forgotten gem from Dire Straits

Also a slightly uncharacteristic slower song from G & R, a classic imo
