Holiday watch choices

Post by MiniMpi »

It's Thankfully that time of year again when myself and Lou go on holiday.
We were due to go to Goodwood Revival but we have aired on the side of caution and decided it was safer not to travel there this year.
We are heading to Connemara to the same lovely cottage we went to last year in fact as it was amazing.
We are really looking forward to the break away from work and family commitments also.

Lou is bringing two watches, not decided on yet but I'll add them to the thread when she decides on choice of watches.

It was quite difficult picking what watches to take from the 24 I have currently !
These are the three I've decide to take with me for the 7 days we are away :

C65 SH21 LE for dinner out of an evening.

C60 Abyss SH21 and C60 Elite GMT 1000 for daytime use.

Is there rhyme and reason to what you choose or is it purely a bit of whim and what seems to grab your attention at the moment?

I can imagine some reasoning behind the C65 SH21 LE as a dinner out watch - a bit upscale as an LE and with the SH21, but still a dive watch, as opposed to dress watch, so in keeping with the holiday spirit.

Am I close? What’s the thought with the other two?

Enjoy the trip, by the way! I’d love to hear about any particularly good meals you two have.

Hi Ferg, not really fussed on what watches you take, the choice is yours, but it is great to hear people getting out and about on holiday again, enjoy your break

Thanks Andrew

There is a bit of randomness in it for sure but also I try to pick some watches I haven't worn for a while too to give them some wrist time.
The C65 SH21 LE doesn't get many outings, mainly because I really baby it as I adore the watch.
The Abyss SH21 because I haven't worn it much since getting it and want to spend some proper time with it.
The Elite GMT 1000 again hasn't had much wrist time, mainly due to new additions of late.

Lou and myself joke that it should be called an eating holiday as we go out to dinner every night
But again that's what we enjoy so I will certainly be posting some food photos also ;)

Nice choices, Ferg.

My Abyss - regular version, not SH21- was my holiday choice this year. I find the Abyss range very cool indeed and look great whilst casually out and about

Have a great holiday

Excellent choices, old boy. I’m still slightly dithering but coming around to probably just taking the Sealander GMT.

My problem, as ever, is all the snazzy shirts. Which ones will get the nod this time?

So finally decided on just two....!
Lou is also bringing two.

I went for the C60 Abyss SH21 for daytime use and the C65 SH21 LE for going out to dinner at night.

Lou went for her W11 Amelia for daytime and her S30 Victoria Deco for going out to dinner at night.

Nice choices Ferg (I am biased though)
Enjoy the holiday. It’s far too long since I have been to Ireland and I have never been to Connemara. I am going to do some planning !
