The race for Emma's wrist space
First off, Emma Raducanu...just amazing. And WHAT a smile!!
But...the big watch companies are going to be looking to occupy that ultimate wrist real estate. Now who's gonna get there first? Surely it's a two horse race between Rolex and Omega. Wouldn't it be funny if she went with a G-Shock!!

Re: The race for Emma's wrist space
As you say, the girl is amazing. She is stunningly beautiful and incredibly talented, and she’s 18. She has come from nowhere to being one of the most marketable human beings on the planet in just three months.
Listening to her, she does sound sensible and levelheaded. I really hope that she has a great team behind her keeping her feet on the ground and helping her to make sensible decisions about what could be and ought to be an amazing future.
But we have seen before the things can happen when a combination of youth, beauty and talent is thrust into the public eye. I really hope this kid is given space to grow and is not overexploited.

Re: The race for Emma's wrist space
Any sponsorship deal is just about buying advertising, her team will know that. So if G-Shock offer the best deal ...Wouldn't it be funny if she went with a G-Shock
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left
Re: The race for Emma's wrist space
At 56 the past 18 months or so since Covid hit has gone quite quickly, but she would have been only about 16 or so when everything changed, having not played many tournaments makes it even more amazing IMO

Just an amazing young lady
It'll be interesting to see how she handles the next event as expectations will be high.
As for wrist wear, mostly likely Rolex albeit I'd throw TAG Heuer in there being that they are an Official Partner of the LTA.

I'm not a follower of professional tennis, but I think all of Canada (and England as well I'm sure) followed the US Open this year. What an amazing story, with an 18 y/o Brit and a 19 y/o Canadian, both virtually unknown, making it to the women's final.

Re: The race for Emma's wrist space
Personally, I think Emma would look really good wearing a Cartier, although I don't think endorsement is their thing. With her slender frame, lovely colouring, not to mention poise, a stainless steel model would look so elegant. The maison has always had a tradition of adorning the wrists of European nobility and royalty, and that is what she has become in the tennis world.

Re: The race for Emma's wrist space
Well, Guy, From what I've seen of Emma's tennis I can't see her being a fly-by-night. She has unbelievable talent and should win many, many grand slams. Any brands looking to her, watch or otherwise, are going to be engaging a global marketing powerhouse with potentially very long longevity. Maybe CW should thrown in their pitch, they could even launch a line of 'Majors' themed timepieces. A green dial Wimbledon, an orange dial French Open, a blue dial US Open and something appealing for the Aussie Open.

Could be the perfect launch for a 36mm Sealander.
Strictly no diamonds though
I think it'd take a little more than the recent investment money though.

I’m on board with all of this! This sounds like a brilliant plan. 36mm 3-hander Sealander in different dial colors? Yes, please!StrappedUp wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 9:17 am Could be the perfect launch for a 36mm Sealander.

Rolex - so that she doesn’t have to pay the grey market price for a model from the SS Professional range.
