Re: Caseback of the day
Fascinating, Gary. It marks the 10th anniversary so I’m assuming that the watch dates from 1975 or thereabouts.
A little qualification is needed, however. Ed White performed the first American EVA in June 1965 on Gemini 4.
Alexei Leonov, Soviet cosmonaut, had performed an EVA on Voskhod 2 some three months earlier. The watch dates from the height of the Cold War, so it was probably convenient to forget that.

That’s an interesting case back. Not sure what the picture of Radner Daltrey swinging his microphone has to do with a spacewalk though.....
Iain’s Law: Any discussion on the Christopher Ward forum, irrespective of the thread title or subject matter, will eventually lead to someone mentioning the Bel Canto if the thread continues for long enough.

So it does! That gave them another 30 years to find out about Leonov, then.TigerChris wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 8:38 pmI think a trip to specsavers may be needed Steve - it says 40th AnniversaryAmor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 2:33 pm

Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…
