Caliber nerds! A peek inside and discussion around

Post by Noush »

The Inner Nerd enjoyed this video. Notionally it's a tech review of the Oris 400 caliber by a master watchmaker. The opportunity was there and I guess it's the caliber of the moment.
Your nerdishness may be challenged by 27 minutes, but I think it's worth sticking it out.

Nuts and bolts: we look inside, discuss benefits and issues. Compare and contrast. See the elements at work. I learned more than just about the 400 for sure. I do hope some others here enjoy this too.

Thanks, makes a change from the usual review of the exterior and wearing experience. Was an interesting 27 minutes

I’ve never considered myself anything of a caliber nerd, but I enjoyed this. Especially the discussion at the end about use of silicon and novel materials. Thanks for posting this.

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed that quite a bit. It’s the first time I’ve seen a review of just a movement as opposed to the watch it’s in.

Here’s an embedded video for those not wanting to leave the forum to watch….

Yea, I thoroughly enjoyed this. I liked his unique perspective that you don’t usually hear. I got excited when he started talking about more usage of silicon in the movement and ultra-accuracy, then he brought me back down to earth by bringing up that it might negate some of the artistry of watchmaking. Nice video.
