Incoming - I really shouldn't but...

Post by Soporsche »

This is why I'm not qualified to offer any advice at all to missF in the 'Watch nooks and crannies' thread.
Magpie syndrome strikes again, I was resolved to be sensible, consolidate, sell a few, then ooh shiny!
You guys are way to good at guessing from the merest hint of a clue so I'll just say its a diver and leave it at that for now.

No nooks and crannies required. ‘Ooh shiny’ is a perfectly legitimate way to run a watch hobby!

A shiny diver, maybe you mean lots of lume - is it a Zelos with frost dial?

Not a Zelos, the only hint beyond diver is that's its a bit of a marmite brand on here.

When you suggested 'shiny' I immediately thought of IAJ's Glycine Airman No 1, but then, reading on, I knew that couldn't be correct as its not a Diver.

I don't hold with the suggestion of Bremont as their divers are hardly shiny.

Marmite brand, eh? Should be right up my street then. How about a Squale?

Guy

PS> I can't see anything in the Sales Corner that matches up.

And the prize goes to....... @missF

Tried on recently whilst at the AD looking at the Breitling Heritage 57 which I was intrigued by.... turns out the standard Heritage 42 in black with black ceramic insert on gold bezel looks fabulous on the wrist (well it does me)., really surprised me.
Couple of weeks later a really great deal came up on a lightly used one, albeit on rubber and not mesh.

I'm just going to control myself with my incoming announcements in future.. the forum is populated by watch witches with psychic abilities:
Me "I bought a watch, no clues"
Forum " Ah, its a Jaeger Lecoultre Master Deep Sea 1969 from dealer Monsieur Dumas at 132 Rue de Reims in Paris"
Me "b!@@&y h€ck"

I guess a bit more mainstream than Squale. Not sure if its up your street, honestly surprised me how much it appealed when tried on as I had never previously considered one.

Breitling is a brand I have had at the back of my mind to look at closely and consider, but not got around to it.

Good fortuitous pickup, it seems. Top notch.

I adore my Breitling. I think its my most worn watch. Especially in summer on the rubber strap.
Absolutely great choice
