Enjoy the much earned full retirement! I’m looking forward to reading your book in my retirement, so you’ve got three years.

Congratulations! Given your new choice of career, perhaps, for the moment, you’ll have (even) more time to dig up unknown horological treasure chests, and sharing the stories with all of us

Congratulations, Steve, on achieving Retirement 2.0. I hope you enjoy every minute of it in the utmost good health. And, yes, I'm completely jealous!

Fair enough. Given that you bought it on Chrono24 I had assumed it was serviced, though of course that is not necessarily the case.Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 10:56 am
Just that it’s an old watch, Nik. I just don’t fancy swimming with it, though I might be tempted to get a service and have all the seals checked/replaced. To be honest, most of the time these days I swim in a pool and I don’t wear a watch.
Thought: a good few of my watches are of similar or older vintage and I had never thought of them as old - too traumatic to face I suppose!

Congratulations Steve on your retirement, part 2. You definitely should, and deserve to, treat yourself to a second retirement watch with the extra funds earned in the past year since you first thought you had retired.

Being retired is wonderful. Welcome to the club! Just try not to be one of those people who is constantly going back to their former workplace, it's amazing how unimportant it all seems after a short while.
A very short while in my case - I hated the place!
