Can anyone help please?

Post by Robden »

Wondering if anyone can help please?

Back in 2018 on Jan 22nd, in "Show your pet" I posted a photo of my dog (George) leaping into the water to go fishing.
Sadly, since then George has died, and I can't retrieve the photo I used.

It's about the sixth post from the bottom on this page: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=23411&hilit=george+ ... &start=405

All other photos are there, but of course, not this one. All I get is,

<Error>
<Code>NoSuchKey</Code>
<Message>The specified key does not exist.</Message>
<Key>monthly_2017_05/large.DSC08498.JPG.89b665ffc18955cae5126f8cadbfcda8.JPG</Key>

</Error>

Thanks very much for any help and/or advice.

It looks like you had the image in Amazon AWS, or that's where the image host held the files.
Sadly I suspect the image has been deleted.

Very sorry to hear about your dog, and sadly, yes, the picture seems to have been deleted from the Amazon AWS file store.

I'm going to move this topic to "off topic".

You may want to try http://web.archive.org/ but it's very erratic and no guarantee it would've taken a screen grab.
Had a quick look for you, but the site is a pain and keeps churning out 504 time-out errors.
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

Thanks for bothering all.
Strange though, never had anything to do with Amazon anything.

If you were using an image host, they were probably using AWS services.

An interesting topic as, looking back through the forum from time to time, I come across photos of mine, hosted by Tapatalk that have gone AWOL.

Fortunately I still have the originals on my phone/PC/Google Photos.

The Internet Wayback Machine is very random and erratic in how it archives pages. Unfortunately its last saved archive for the ‘Show us your pets’ thread dates from 2015 so that avenue is closed. Also it probably wouldn’t helped anyway as it doesn’t follow links to external sites.

I quickly looked at s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com and there’s been numerous attempts to archive it but all the ones I looked at had failed. I guess your best bet is to look at the hosting provider where you stored your photos.

Best of luck.

I managed to get the previous page up, but no archive of page #28 - no guarantee the image would be there anyway.

Thanks. Yeah, he saw the fish rise just before. I got ready with the camera because I knew he couldn't resist it. The next rise and..............never did catch one though.

I’m so pleased you found the photograph, clearly captures a special dog.

I remember seeing that photo when it was posted as it made me laugh so much and admire the dog for having the pluck to do that jump.
A great find.
