The grass thread
The grass thread
Over the years I have concentrated the majority of my posts on watch related matters. In an attempt to sow some discussion, water down any controversies, ensure that there no dry patches I’ve posted a photograph of my lawn. Hope you too will roll out your lawn for all to see. Those living in an apartment a pot plant will do.

Re: The grass thread
There’s about a snowball’s chance in h*ll I’m posting a pic of my “lawn.” It barely qualifies as a lawn. It is a family trait, I think, that we struggle to maintain lush, green lawns. The only saving grace to my embarrassment of a lawn is that there isn’t a single nice lawn on my street! All of us struggle. I should probably qualify what I mean by struggle: I hate lawn and yard maintenance and do the bare minimum necessary. So by struggle I mean I don’t really try and just mow it when I have to. Also, my lawn is maybe 10’ by 20’, if that, so I really have no excuse for this.
Your lawn is beautiful, by the way.

Re: The grass thread
I have a lawn which only needs a small amount of rain to turn into a bog. Was looking respectable until my daughter's birthday party a couple of weeks back and now it looks like Worthy Farm after a particularly wet Glastonbury.

Re: The grass thread
My back yard is a bog, too! The home owners’ association mandates 8’ fences, so it never gets much direct sunlight to dry things off after a rain (small yard because I’m in a townhouse). Between that and the high fences making it feel like a prison yard, I’ve written it off. I’ve got tons of moss growing back there now.sproughton wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 3:55 pm I have a lawn which only needs a small amount of rain to turn into a bog.

Re: The grass thread
We live with these busy little fellows so "lawn" is just "grass", if that!
Most of the neighbours use some sort of ghastly sonic repeller I think, which we won't, so they live here en masse. They're welcome, along with the deer who nibble my wife's horticulture....

This photograph of our lawn was taken a few moments ago.
Small but perfectly formed.
To be honest Sue is more of a plantswoman than a keeper of lawns.

During the last locked down we were visited by the same ‘little fellows’ who took great delight in stripping our rose bushes of their flowers.

Coral takes charge of the boards as she knows her plants and shrubs. It leaves me to care for the lawn which I derive a sense of satisfaction from. Weed free, neatly cut and undistributed, that is until the dog and grandchildren decided otherwise. Lol

Brilliant thread! This is my ‘lawn’ :
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Love it, ‘green’ evokes a lot of positive thoughts.

^^
ZWhen I was in hospital I read a study that showed that even a small patch of green in a room ( even a small painted patch of a wall) could reduce stress levels. We can’t survive separated from greenness and nature
