Re: The grass thread

My lawn/grass is looking a bit disheveled at the moment, not mown it for a week, and it's currently growing at a ridiculously fast rate; especially my wild patch that I set aside from mowing last year. I've sown it with wild flower seeds, a few weeks ago, but they have yet to come through; early days though.

I like leave the grass cut on the long side to mitigate the effects of Davie bouncing around on it. Although after only a few minutes of ball chase yesterday afternoon, he just wanted to lie in the sun.

A few pics taken in this morning's sunshine.

Shooting straight into the sun isn't the best way to get a good photo, but I'm sure you get the gist.

Then there's plant pot and pets corner.

In addition to the many watches members have, I am now envious of the many beautiful lawns and gardens. What oases some of you have in your backyards! As I mentioned earlier both my teeny tiny front and rear lawns are nothing to write home about. My oasis, however, is my deck. While, being in a townhouse, I have no real privacy to the right of left, I at least look out onto a wooded area behind me rather than the back of someone else’s house. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy a good book, a fine cigar with a drink, or relax with some music. I’ll share a better pic when it looks a bit more presentable. It’s a bit of a wreck at the moment after some significant rain.

My grass isn’t great, but as I wait for the arrival of a more suitable candidate from another member, I chose my bronze Zelos Mako V1 on an Erikasoriginals MN as my gardening watch.

The Milkman household is quite happy with the shape of the garden but the lawn is a mix of grass, moss and weeds. Not seen beyond the trellis is a goal where my son and I have a kick around, so I can't afford to take the lawn out of commission to scarify and seed it. So I'll happily take the slightly scruffy lawn for now and one day will tend to it and create the grassy oasis that I'd like

Thanks! It does the job for me. I just picked up a cigar for tonight. It’s going to be lovely. Some better pics now that things have dried off…

I don’t see any evidence of Brood X there Andrew. When I lived in Fairfax county during the last emergence in 2004 the deck was littered with dead bodies!

Haven’t seen a single one yet! I think my county (Prince William) is just south enough to be outside the zone for the current brood.

Did a bit of work sprucing up the front of the house this weekend. Need to water the grass more. We’re in a moderate drought.

Alex...although we do need the rain around here, I am more than willing to send some to you!

I haven't been able to get a photo of my yard due to the last 4 days of rain. Perhaps in a day or two.
