Chuffing to bits - colloquial - "Chuffed to bits" [UK] - meaning very happy or pleased.

Re: Words I’ve learned on this forum
I very close friend from HS and college had a Finish mother. She taught me to say “Help, help, the cat is farting peas!” in Finnish. I guess it’s a joke there? Anyway, I learned it close to 30 years ago, and still remember it! That, and “Go smell a rose.”

Re: Words & idioms I’ve learned on this forum
Never heard that version: the most common form is "Apua, apua, kissa syö papua" (Help, help, the cat is eating peas) or "Apua, apua, kissa syö rapua" (Help, help, the cat is eating crab).
Both are just nonsense poems - "apua" just rhymes with "papua" (or "rapua"). One can add pretty much anything in between those words, one form is "Apua, apua, kissa pan€€ rapua" (Help, help, the cat is f**ing a crab)
We use "go smell a flower" ("haista kukka") instead of "go smell a rose". It's a kinder version form of "haista k@kka" and "haista p@ska" which both means "go and sniff sh*t"
