With regards my own game, I'm hitting the driver and irons as well as I ever had, but I must tidy up my short game and course management, as from 30 yds in I'm taking too many shots.
Putting is ok, so it's the chipping where I'm struggling.
I did try a chipper, but I try not to use it, as it's as unreliable as my wedges and irons. And hasn't got the feel.
I'm going to try laying up to 60 or 100 yrds next time out, as at that distance I'm pretty confident. With my Lob and pitching wedges.
P.s.
My friend just played The London Club.
He was blown away by it, and highly recommends it, if you get the chance.
Unfortunately it was on a work day, so I didn't get the chance to go this time.

Please please don't use a chipper at least until you've watched some YouTube videos about short distance chipping or better still had a lesson for chipping.
My short game was total garbage for a long time then within 15 minutes of a 30 minute lesson it all clicked and I found out how to use the wedges. I'm not always perfect with them (who is with any of their clubs all the time ?) but I usually save a load of shots now. It is so much more satisfying to be able to use 1 of a selection of wedges than resorting to a chipper.
If a lesson doesn't work and you have to go to a chipper make sure it's a legal version if it's a pre-owned - it cannot be a 2 faced chipper.
The London Club is a great place - 2 courses, The Heritage and The International and I've been fortunate to play both of them as each is very different to the other and both are a real test of your game. The Heritage is exclusively for Members and their Guests but often they have good value food and golf packages to play The International and this has excellent par3s that will test your accuracy and confidence in your hitting distances.
