Not to mention a little dirt on the face. Hard to imagine why I didn’t keep this look!magicman wrote:

Re: Photographs From Your Past
I found these...before and after Uni shots (Matric 1975 & Graduation 1979). It's amazing what 4 years of drinking, womanising, playing sport and avoiding work can do to a fresh-faced and naive undergraduate!
Here's a shot from the Plaza Mayor in Madrid, Summer 1978. Note the strategically placed Michelin Guide!

Loughton, Essex. 1984/85ish.
Me right, with Big kev and his Girlfriend Sam.
We used to go to Mod alldayers back then.
I was so gutted that I never got a Scooter, we had all become Casuals and were driving cars soon after, I'll always regret not going on more Scooter runs.
Regards Steve

^^^
Great photograph.
My one regret is that there was only one photograph of my Lambretta 125 and I gave it to an ex girlfriend in 1971.
I still see her around but am pretty sure it doesn't exist any longer remembering how we parted.
50 years ago! Where has the time gone?
AVO's second photograph reminds me of a younger Benny Andersson (ABBA).

I knew I had a few 'old' photos on my phone, so here we are;-
Obligatory School sports pic; Inter-house, 7 a side Rugby - I'm wearing the scrum cap.
On a NATO exercise, Danish Airfield (I think) c. 1974/75. I'm the Brit.

Shame about the photo, I presume it was the photo and not the Scooter you gave to your ex !
I preferred Lambrettas to Vespas with there fixed Front Guard and longer, sleeker rear end.
Cut down scooters were a thing in my day, were they also popular in the 70s ? I thought it was a real shame to remove all those nice panels.

Re: Photographs From Your Past
Excellent photographs Guy.
Being presented to the Queen was a real honour and a feather in your cap. The chap next to you looks like he had had a couple for Dutch courage beforehand.
Steve. I don't recall seeing any cut down scooters in the late 60s or early 70s.
Come to think of it, 99% of all the scooters around Frome were Lambrettas being SXs, LIs, TVs with the occasional GP200. I can't recall seeing any Vespas at all. My favourite was always the SX200 in white with the oxblood seat.
I rode mine to school in 1971 which was a round trip of 20 miles. A friend of mine was given a brand new GP200 in yellow ochre and we used to sneak out at lunchtime for a ride around Castle Cary and Wincanton. His father was the English teacher Mr (Fess) Parker who as I recall had a metal plate in his forehead having been hit by shrapnel in WW2.
Funny how forgotten memories suddenly come back.

This photo was taken at the Summer Jamboree music festival in Senigallia, Northern Italy back in 2005. Can you spot me?
Here’s a clue.....
I’ve still got the poster for that years festival on my wall.
