Thanks for all your replies ;)
I did notice the dirt accumulation on the C6 after I opened, so I cleaned the others first before then opening them.
My work colleague gave me another one to do, a c5 mk2.
They are building up lol

I tackled my C70 Ascari COSC this evening !

My Bergeon ball arrived and I tried it on the C5 MK2 first and no budge and then tried it on my C70 and no budge sadly.

I then put some masking tape on the center of the case back and used the three prong tool. I was very careful and it opened without any damage to the case back thankfully. After I got the first movement of the case back done I carefully removed the tool and used the ball to remove the case back fully.

The small screws holding the clamp in place were very tricky to put back in, you only have to loosen both I found out afterwards and the clamp can be swung out of the way. I used a small piece of masking tape to lift up and help place the screw afterwards.

Everything back together and it was ticking away. I had to preform the reset of the chronograph hands also which was easy after reading the manual for this model.

Great to have completed it myself and to have it back on the wrist :)

Some photos of the job and of the magnifying glass I bought to help with the small screws.

There’s something very special about the C70s and to be able to maintain them yourself gives a lot of satisfaction. Enjoy.

The Renata batteries arrived today so I tackled my brother's Rotary Chronospeed and my work colleague's C5 MK2, C6 Kingfisher & C60 Trident 300.

All sorted :)
Very happy that I managed it all and including my C70 Ascari COSC the other day too.

Busy this evening.........
Louise's W60 Coral (second battery change) and her W5 Matisse which has had a few changes before.
Sadly don't have the correct batteries in stock but opened them up to confirm that the excellent CW Archive was correct that they are indeed Renata 371's.
So a few now ordered.

Glad to hear that the archive has done its duty again, Ferg. It’s the little things like this that make it so good, and that is all down to Kip’s astounding recordkeeping on spreadsheets over the years. Without that rock solid base we could hardly have got started.

Great work Ferg, it sounds like you could turn this into a little business, you're even using terms such as "in stock"

Excellent work Ferg. I’ve often thought how many people here would have the confidence to open a caseback.
