Good morning
Unfortunately, my local Golf club in Loughton Essex, has not reopened since the first Lockdown, and now this !
It was a testing and very Hilly 9 hole course, with the best after round food from the on-site Pan Asian restaurant.
I was looking forward to playing it this year, but unfortunately for the local community, it looks like someone had other ideas.
Seems very Dodgy, that there's a burnt out car in the picture. Apparently that car was ablaze a few weeks ago.
Regards Steve

Re: A Massive Shame
Yeah, that looks a bit Suspect doesn't !? Some people..
Perhaps some temporary (construction) site sheds to do the green fees, etc, and keep the course open?
Fingers crossed for you..
cheers

Re: A Massive Shame
Steve, if you don't want to use your automatic on the course, just leave it at home... This seems a bit extreme!
In all seriousness... Hope they can still open the course! I've seen courses open with fewer facilities so if someone wants it open, it'll be open. The timing is rubbish!

Re: A Massive Shame
A course not far from me had a clubhouse fire several years ago. They reopened in 2 days using a trailer as the clubhouse while reconstruction was in progress. Not nice and comfortable but workable.

I'm sure I read that fire, rain, hail and brimstone won't stop golfers from golfing!
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Re: A Massive Shame
They've got the big concrete bollards out front, so I'm not sure the course was going to be open anytime soon.
The restaurant were doing takeaways for a while, but that stopped, months ago.
I can't see it, surviving as it was never a busy course.
But it's a real shame, as it was the best 9 hole course in the area.
