Duxford is a former military airfield, situated a few miles from Cambridge. It is now a branch of the Imperial War Museum, and maintains a serviceable runway. The collection is quite mind-boggling, I haven’t been for a few years but last time I went there was a Concorde, and among the American aircraft were a Stratofortress and a Blackbird.

We thought about trying to get a CW GTG there a couple of years ago, but it didn’t come off. :(

Sadly no, Richard.

There is an enormous amount to see at IWM Duxford and being with my Girlfriend/Partner and her 6yo Grandson we rather whizzed around only about half of the exhibits/displays.

Another time perhaps.

Definitely worth catching up with Polish Heritage Flight, their insight is fascinating.

Only a quarter mile or so from home this morning, whilst out walking Davie (Greyhound), the moody sky with green wheat field and red poppies growing on the verge of the lane I was walking up caught my eye.

Nice photos on this thread lately. I took this at the weekend looking along a reservoir not far from our house, you can see Edinburgh castle in the distance

Working from home today so went for a brisk walk before sitting all day my desk. To see what watch I used to time my walk to within 1/10 second you’ll have to see the NCWOTD thread.

Today's National Trust visit was an old favourite of ours, Knightshayes, nestled down in Devon outside Tiverton.

The Heathcoat-Amory family, who had established their wealth from lace production, owned much of the manufacturing and land around Tiverton, and Heathcoat-Amory chose the site of Knightshayes, because of its view of his distant factory, nestled in the Exe valley below.

You can see the factory in the distance in the last photograph.

What a beautiful day out.
