Re: Pics from the walkers
I could happily go to Stourhead every week of the year.
The views would never quite be the same as the seasons change.

^^^ Great pics scooter. Stourhead looking splendid.
Note to self - take the detour off the A303 to visit more often than we do, when on route to Devon or Cornwall.

Re: Pics from the walkers
A quick trot around Gloucester docks this morning culminating in a quick pint in one of the local microbrews- the first time having a pint in a pub for a long long time. This is the Gladys, a spritsail sailing barge from 1901 built as a bulk cargo vessel, having been adapted in the 70s for corporate entertainment.
She came to Gloucester 3 years ago in a very sorry state with some major timber issues and has spent most of that time in one of the dry docks being totally refurbished. Last weekend she was still in dry dock but over this past week she took her masts back and was refloated. Looking resplendent and ready for work once more.

Re: Pics from the walkers
Thank you.
I have seen several wedding ceremonies taking place at Stourhead over the years.

I'm off to Castleton tomorrow. I might get some pictures to show off. Hopefully it will get a bit warmer.
Re: Pics from the walkers
A few recent ones from the Lakeland fells.
I thought it was too cold to strip off and swim in Red Tarn, however a couple of younger walkers thought otherwise. Neil

^^^^^ I love the Lake District and your photos are excellent. It one of my favourite places but I’ve not been able to visit this last year. I usually have an annual walking and beer weekend with a mate and we camp just outside Keswick.

Re: Pics from the walkers
Some great photos appearing here recently. Working more and the gym reopening have slightly curtailed walking activity for me. Maybe I’ll get out on the road a bit more in the summer.

Re: Pics from the walkers
Went for a walk around the downtown of my hometown, with the kids and their grandparents (my parents). It was supposed to be sunny and nice. It was not. Ducked into a hotel lobby to wait out the rain.

Re: Pics from the walkers
Went for a circa 12 mile stroll today, in the Quontock Hills. We took in a stretch of coastline near Kilve, just south of the new Hinckley ‘C’ nuclear power station.
The first pic is as you pull into the lane at my Uncle’s house, overlooking the Chew Valley Reservoir. He lives circa 50 miles south of me and he was driving the last 40 ish miles south. I could have happily sat and taken in this view for a while!
We passed three churches, each one bigger than the previous.
The strange, airport style, control tower, is a relic from when the Navy had an aircraft firing range just off the coast.

Great photographs.
I can't remember when I last went to the Quantocks but must make an effort soon.

Today was a visit to Knoll Gardens near Ferndown, Dorset before spending some time in nearby Wimborne.
What a lovely day.
