That looks a world away from where I live. Breathtaking countryside, thanks for sharing.

Those bring back memories. When I lived in the Bay Area we used to go up to Tahoe often; Homewood on the west side and down to Emerald Bay in summer and Squaw for skiing in winter.

A beautiful area.
Hi Tim,

Haven't been to either Homewood or Emerald Bay, but I have snowboarded/skied Squaw. My son was snowboarding at Northstar while my wife went hiking with a friend at Incline Village which is where the pictures were taken.

Cheers!
Best regards,
John

Thanks for sharing your photos too, Iain. Sowerby looks lovely. I've only been to London and Manchester in the UK, mainly for work years ago. Last time I visited was 2016 (London) on vacation with my family. Hopefully we'll be able to visit again soon.
Best regards,
John

One more Chuck, I missed the main attraction, though we didn't actually visit on that clifftop walk. This is that larger "island" the Abbaye itself.

I’ve been to the Mont Saint Michel many times, including 22 trips as a school party leader. One of my aims is to go back without any juvenile hangers on and do the thing properly! However, I’ve picked up a few nice pictures along the way.

I always think they could have used the street for Diagon Alley in Harry Potter.

But my all-time favourite picture from there is one that I entitled The Old Man and the Seagull (apologies to Hemingway).

An 11.5 mile walk through the Cotswold countryside. Taking in the spot where Jumbos go to die. :(
