Watch storage and/or display
Got my 1st 'nice' watch 15 years ago and now find myself with a couple of spares
Never given much thought before but now I have a few and possibly about to pull the pin on another CW, rather than sat in a box/drawer I wondered what others do with the unworn watches?
Thanks in advance

Re: Watch storage and/or display
Yes...I too would be interested to hear how other forum members choose to keep/display their watches, particularly if it's innovative or makes for something visually pleasing. A lot of people with big collections have the m squirrelled away in boxes. I think it's nice if pieces can be made visible creating an arresting feature.
Does melancholy count as two of your five daily servings?
Re: Watch storage and/or display
It perfect for me as I’m one of those “always striving for the perfect 3* watch collection” types. This picture was probably when I had the most well rounded and came closest to achieving the goal haha This is on my dressing table in the bedroom or a shelf in the living room so I get to see and pick what I wear (and take far too long doing so)
I do have a friend who puts all his watches in their original boxes and places them open on a stack of shelves like art. I’d never thought of it but I quite like it in practice. I’ve also seen someone convert the huge Speedmaster box into a watch case which looked great.
I want a watch stand for by my bed but they’re all quite expensive from what I’ve seen
*T&Cs apply- ‘3 watch collection’ does not include G shocks, cheap or novelty watches and gifted watches.

Re: Watch storage and/or display
I received a Stackers Glass 4 Watch Box from the Mrs as recent birthday gift to store my 3 watch collection (also available in brown) https://www.johnlewis.com/stackers-glas ... k/p3837920 . Seems to be good value and I like the glass panel to view the watches.
Best of all a space for me to add another (surely that's what she was implying ), maybe a nice gold coloured dress watch or a moonphase? Be rude not to after all it was a present
I did look at the Wolf Windsor Five Watch Box https://www.wolf1834.com/windsor-5-piec ... -box#93=90 but the cushions seemed smaller and it was dearer especially with having to fund two more to fill it!

So I went to buy a watch, and the man in the shop said "Analogue." I said "No, just a watch."

I have the CW 8-berth Case in black leather.
A bit expensive but a real quality item. I use it for my most frequently worn watches, but have a couple of smaller boxes as well.

Thank you for the replies.
Some nice boxes there and given some food for thought.
Like the idea of a shelf with display case/box........

Re: Watch storage and/or display
I also owned the CW watch box which was absolutely beautiful. I sold it as I've always struggled (mightily) with proudly displaying versus having easily displayed and risking theft should there ever be a burglary.
I've opted for keeping two watches in my watch winder and the other three live in Oakley Watch Pods.

Small collection of timepieces that I enjoy

Re: Watch storage and/or display
My first thought (sadly) was that the person displaying all their watches on a shelf in the original boxes would be most appreciated by any thieving so and so who broke into their househaving easily displayed and risking theft should there ever be a burglary.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left

I think we give too much credence to being broken into.exHowfener wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 7:32 pmMy first thought (sadly) was that the person displaying all their watches on a shelf in the original boxes would be most appreciated by any thieving so and so who broke into their househaving easily displayed and risking theft should there ever be a burglary.
In reality for most people, it’s a very rare occurrence.
Enjoy your watches, either on display or not. Don’t live in fear, life’s too short. Especially these days.
My watches are on display, of sorts, in our bedroom. In a 17 watch display case. 8 winders/9 slots.

Re: Watch storage and/or display
Kept in a safe now, had them on bedside in a case and realised after a burglary That I was just gift wrapping them for the burglar.
Current collection = Omega Seamaster 2225.80.00, Omega Speedmaster 'Moonphase' 3576.50.00, Breitling Aerospace Evo, Vintage Azur, Vintage Seiko Sprtsman, Grand Seiko SBGX059, Omega SMP NTTD 210.92.42.20.01.001, Casioak Milkyway, Casioak Tiffany Sky.
Re: Watch storage and/or display
I used to have a decoy safe which was pretty empty and not secured and I kept my watches in my cereal boxes when I moved out to Essex and didn’t know the area- the hope was that they would see the safe, think they’ve struck gold and leave quickly with it!
