Fantasy Football 2020/21

Post by welshlad »

For all those who want to participate in Fantasy Premier League Football again this coming season, I have just renewed the CWF Fantasy Football League we have had for several seasons. Anyone who was in it last year should be automatically entered into it again this year - once you register your new team - but please double check.

For anyone new wanting to join the league, it couldn't be easier. Simply use the link below and you'll be added automatically after you've entered the game.

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/leagu ... oin/6wsz8q

League Code: 6wsz8q

The season starts on Saturday 12th September, so start thinking about registering your teams pretty soon. The deadline for submitting your team is 11.00 BST on Sat 12th September.

Good luck!

Thanks for getting this up and running Steve.

I'll be aiming to improve on last, my first, season.

Congratulations to the winner James & Chips!! =D>

Having led the league for what felt like forever, I dropped to 3rd after suffering the biggest title collapse since Newcastle and Kevin Keegan in 1996  !

Well done for anyone else who kept up with the participation until the final week!

You beat me to it! :)

Yes, the 2020/21 Premier League football season is over and, hence, so is the Christopher Ward Fantasy Football League.

Our winner won fairly comfortably in the end with a very impressive score, but it was quite close for 2nd and 3rd:

1) James & Chips 2414 points
2) Paun Stars 2369 points
3) ABCDE FC 2344 points

I shall let the managers of teams 1) and 2) reveal themselves as although I know their real names, I don't know their forum usernames. A1soknownas came 3rd as he's mentioned above. I came 5th, although I did win our work's league so I'm pretty chuffed about that - especially as that was for money, whereas the CWF League is just for kudos!

Well done to team James & Chips, a well-deserved and clear winner. Much respect to you. :)

I shall kick off a new league for next season when the information is available, probably in July sometime.

Happy to take all the kudos that's sent my way as the CWF FF champion. It's a long hard season and I'm just glad the lads managed to stay focused and give 110% throughout.

We go again next season for an attempt at 3 in a row...

^^^^ Top notch and congratulations.

I enjoyed my run out this season although I did nowhere near as well as last year; maybe that was beginner's luck.

Mind you, notwithstanding only coming 12th in the CW league I was in the top third (approx) globally, which seems pretty reasonable.

One thing that strikes me as strange though is that, we all having joined and playing in the League for the season, there is no chatter amongst us on a week by week basis on a 'did well / rubbish this week' or 'why did I select .......' etc. Is there any particular reason behind this?

I think I will do a few more updates next season, including Manager of the Month awards, so hopefully that will engender some ongoing chat through the season.

Is the league going to be started up again for this season? I have decided with a week to go now is the time to start looking at the team for this season. I always start pretty badly so hopefully this season will buck that trend.

Thanks for the reminder, I will get it set up later today and will start a new 2021/22 thread for it.
