Woke up to loud solid banging, shortly followed by the deep drone of what I now know to be a large drill. No it's not the end of the world or someone destroying my house around me, it's my next door neighbour having new windows fitted at 8AM with no friendly warning.

We have a roofing problem and have been trying to get it repaired for months. Sometimes, roofers even come and look at the job. The common consensus is that the job will take two days. The only quote we have been given was for £3000 plus. Obviously, this will include materials. Now, I may be living in a time-warp, but £3k+ sounds like a reasonable amount to pay a tradesman (not being sexist, they have all been men) for two days skilled work.
No-one so far will commit to the job, most don't even turn up when they say they will. And people say times are hard for the self-employed. Apparently not if you are a roofer!
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left

When you turn up at a self catering cottage what you really need is for the boiler to choose that precise moment to completely break down with an impressive cacophony of noises.
If you can read this you are too close to your computer screen....

Sky golf coverage.

They put up a player's score, in the top left of the screen, where it's obscured by the Sky Logo.
Then they put up the leaderboard on the bottom right, where the digital watermark obscures some of the scores.
Surely they know where the graphics should go.

What is it with some people?
Why the hate for TRIBUS?
Why bully me just because I like the brand?
Why, is it because I post photos of my watches?
Why, is it my collection?
Why, is it because of my enthusiasm?
Why make up stories about me?
Why bully me on groups I don’t even belong to?
Why bully me off Facebook?
Are you going to bully me on this group too?

Why not get to know me.
Richard

This CW Forum logs you out very quickly when you are inactive.
Intensely irritating, especially if you take time creating a lengthy post, and then lose it as you aren't logged in.

I can understand being timed out of your bank login, but not a user forum.

Is this a watch forum or a photography forum?

There seems to be a proliferation of photo threads recently. Even a bedroom poster thread, wtf

Plus every “Of The Day” possible. Buckle Of The Day coming soon!!

And a Poets Corner!!!
Basically, I'm for anything that gets you through the night. Be it prayer, tranquilizers or a bottle of Jack Daniels, Frank Sinatra

I was allowed out today, I shouldn't have bothered, driving/parking idiots, miserable faces everywhere and a budget supermarket taking the p*** with a price rise on the only product I buy there !

Ok, I’ll try again. I’m saddened by the loss and sacrifice that is being felt by many today. Anger at the waste of life.

India are a good side but this England side is as poor as I've seen. Batting a shambles (Root excluded), tactics to the tailenders misjudged and a bowling attack completely reliant on a 39 year old.

The Aussies will be licking their lips ahead of the Winter.

Ever have that conversation with someone that leaves you wondering, “how did you even manage to tie your shoes this morning, let alone hold down this job?!”

I’m sitting here utterly bewildered at the thought that some of these idiots are teachers!

Why have I just had a sign-up email for Loupe? I have received them every time since I bought my first CW.
Is there an occasional re-signing in case some recipients have dropped off?

I won't start a thread about it.

Why do they tell you that new devices are really easy to set up? THEY LIE!

I haven’t had a printer for a few years. We always had a small allowance for personal printing at work as a perk of the job, and I used very little of mine: just a few holiday docs, boarding passes and so on.

No longer having regular access to that, I bought a printer today. It wasn’t an expensive one, because I’m a low volume user. Just one of those 60 quid Epson things that seems to be able to scan and photocopy as well!

Anyway, it works.

Well, it does now. The instructions was so woefully inadequate that it took me about 90 minutes to download the necessary apps and visit the necessary websites to make the thing connect to my hub.

No, it’s not easy!
