Such a great bike downer.

Good to see the thread back on track.

Out on The Monkey on Monday.

Thanks scooter. That Monkey looks super-clean!

I really enjoy riding around the peak district, although I'd appreciate it if we could get a few more degrees on the thermometer.

Lots of rain today- great for washing away the last of the winter salt. Fair weather rider and proud of it  :D

Plenty of warm and dry days already this year, Rich - although this week it seems to have gone a bit chilly. We restarted the IAM stuff a couple of weeks ago and I've got my National Observer exam booked for mid May so I need to get some polish back into my ride!

You're right! I've been out a handful of times- just enough to get a few miles on the new bike ready for the 600 mile service next week. Looking forward to getting out and about and exploring a bit more of the rev range. We'd not had a good dose of rain since the last time the gritters were out so it'll be nice to not have salt dust to contend with.

Beside the seaside this morning on a trip to North Wales. Temperature ranged from 5 to 12. 12 is ok, 5 is on the cool side. We also had some hail, which I could have done without. However, a good ride and some cracking roads.

I don't know North Wales at all.

After a bit of a Google search that appears to be Llandudno.

Looks very nice.

PS Love the cygnets Patrick

Llandudno it is, scooter.

Just up the road, I caught sight of those infamous mountain goats of the Great Orme, the ones known for congregating in the town during lockdown. It seems some of them think we are still locked-down...

Ticked past 18k miles on the GS this week. Think I'll be keeping it at least another year as I can't think of anything that would better suit my needs.

Wow!

That's an excellent mileage in a relatively short period.

I have to hand it to the GS as a great allrounder- it does everything I need but what's more it's comfortable. I have an F900XR as a loaner today while my GS is being serviced and my knees, wrists and backside hurt already!

Yup. I've tried a few other bikes - S1000XR, R1250RS etc and, although they may be more focused in one aspect or another, none of them match the all-round abilities of the GS. My mate has an F900XR. After 90 minutes he seems to need a break due to the hard seat.
