Re: Minis
Looks fantastic, Ferg!
I wish you could come do that to my car. Sadly, I maintain my vehicles like I maintain my yard - poorly. Oh, I’ve got nothing but good intentions with car and yard maintenance. It’s the actual execution I fall down on.

Re: Minis
The mini looks great, what snow foam did you use?
Plus, I can recommend Gyeon Wet Coat for your diamond cut wheels, spray on rinse off wheel sealant.

Re: Minis
That looks fantastic Ferg. I keep coming back to a mini as a fun car to hack around in but tales of delicate engines put me off.

The 2007 to 2013, R56 versions had engines made of cheese........ Best to avoid, been there done that and have the very oily t-shirt !
The F56 from 2014 to date is extremely reliable, especially the petrol versions, the 1.5 three cylinder engine I have is bulletproof. I've had three MINI's with this engine and haven't opened the bonnet between services except to top up the washer bottle.

All done from the comfort of my leather seats these days on the display. No physical dipstick anymore !
Re: Minis
wow - looks like new
I would concur with the engine endorsement of the current gen MINI's - my JCW hasnt missed a beat in nearly five years of abuse

You have to trust the display when it does the checking of the 'dipstick', shows the measurement on the virtual dipstick then.
Quite difficult to change the oil as it won't do a read till the car and oil is after a half hour drive !
So you put it nearly the full amount, go for a drive, come back to the garage and you do the measurement on the display then to gauge how much to top it up.
You get quite used to it after a while.

^^^^ Thanks Ferg.
I suppose it saves you getting your hands dirty and having to dispose of a piece of oily kitchen roll, that's been used to wipe the dipstick.
Whatever will they think of next?
