So sorry to hear of this Richard. We have a candle lit for your wife.
Good to hear the night was peaceful. A very good sign.

That's horrifying, Richard. I presume she wasn't alone at the time, so you, or someone else was able to get assistance very quickly. Hopefully there's no permanent harm done, and the doctors will be able to establish and resolve the cause. It puts watch issues into perspective, doesn't it?Richard D wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 1:23 am My wife collapsed yesterday and was rushed by ambulance to hospital. She has undergone tests to determine why she was unconscious for quite sometime. Her heartbeat and blood pressure were erratic but since the doctors and nurses have stabilised her. If it were not for our amazing NHS, National Health Service, I hesitate to think what the outcome could have been.
Re: The Non-Curmudgeons Corner
^^^^ thank you all for your kind words.
Early indication suggests the reason for my wife’s collapse is that she has Pernicious Anaemia, it’s an autoimmune condition. Meaning that her natural defences are unable to fight infection. Basically she has a Vitamin B12 deficiency which combined with a diagnosis of Sjögren Syndrome and the Anterior Cervical (neck) surgery she underwent a fortnight to the day created the perfect storm. Hence collapsing and remain unconscious for quite sometime. Her pulse and blood pressure had dropped dangerously low.
Luckily I was there together with my neighbour otherwise I hesitate to say, the outcome could have been very different.
I have to say the swift action of the paramedics made all the difference.

That feeling of relief that you get, when you hear that the expensive watch that you posted, has arrived safe and sound, at its new home!

Re: The Non-Curmudgeons Corner
It looks like my son might be pledging my fraternity (same fraternity, different chapter). The fraternity was never a huge part of my college years because it was something my closest friends and I started our senior year, but I’m incredibly excited to potentially have this as something my son and I can share, none the less.

I think this is something that non-US members might struggle to understand, Andrew. Could you explain it for the layman, please?
