The Non-Curmudgeons Corner
Re: The Non-Curmudgeons Corner
Alien Technology - Magnets
Does Gorgio Tsoukalos (Ancient Aliens) know about Neodymium magnets.
I just bought a few to put a metal poster on the fridge. Tiny things, half the size of a postage stamp, insanely powerful, virtually impossible to separate. it must be alien technology. I broke one. I separated it from the stack, put it down, and it jumped across the table to get back to join it's mates, and broke. It's like the liquid metal T1000. The poster is on the fridge, anyway!
The down side is I can see my watches getting magnetised!

A friend of mine actually had to go to the emergency room when he got skin pinched between two of these magnets! He couldn’t pry them loose. He wound up having to get stitches, too.JAFO wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 2:52 pm Does Gorgio Tsoukalos (Ancient Aliens) know about Neodymium magnets.

Yes, they are so small and slippy, and so powerful, it's really hard to get them apart. I can certainly see them nipping fingers.

Gentlemen, can we please NOT change the title of a thread?
Sorry, I know that sounds a bit Curmudgeonly, but we thank you for preserving the title as per the original.

I didn’t realize I had. I’d simply responded to his post. I’ll edit the heading on my post now that I see I can.Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 5:07 pm Gentlemen, can we please NOT change the title of a thread?

I've edited the culprit now. Sorry, I thought adding a sub-head within a general topic might help rather than be a hindrance.

Thanks, guys. As problems go it's not a huge one, but it can lead to confusion (and has in the past!)

Paul Thorpe, and Paul Pluta, PART 2.
Well, I tuned in to watch a war, and two people fell in love.

Archie and Paul Thorpe are reconciled, I think they will be taking saunas together soon.
Part 2 was really enjoyable.

Re: The Non-Curmudgeons Corner
I’m listening to my wife team-teach a 5th grade math class with a veteran teacher, and it is an absolute delight! She and her coworker are so clear and positive with their students. And these kids are fully engaged....WITH MATH!....on ZOOM! I’ve got the biggest smile on my face.
Meanwhile, I felt like i was teaching to an empty room today....nothing but crickets with every question I posed.

Re: The Non-Curmudgeons Corner
Had an awful day at work today- unproductive and miserable stuff going on (6 deaths in a week) but came home to my beautiful 5yo daughter who was excited and wanted to do some joint colouring in of a unicorn she’d printed out.
Very grateful for the positives I have to ground me from the negatives, I think a nice early night with a cuppa and reading her a bed time story will cheer me up along with sneaking glimpses of the lume on my bb58 after I fully charge it before taking her down

It's still light at 5 o'clock! I'm SO glad for the daylight coming back
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Punctured both drivers side tyres today, stuck on the side of the road, having not made it to work.
Found a fella in Google maps, who was with me in 20 minutes and had both 2 new tyres fitted within another 25 minutes.
Fantastic service, in my hour if need.
Regards Steve

Re: The Non-Curmudgeons Corner
First MOT this week on my car, delayed by 6 months. The registration was on the last day to get the 6 month extension. Winner winner, chicken dinner. I needed 4 new tyres, just about £400, though. Can't be helped, though, can it?
