As you could probably gather from the watch photo which I posted, I do drive a 2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Have owned it since February 2015. I don’t do many miles in it as it’s my pride and joy (obviously together with my watch collection).

Cheers,
Chris
Now that is very lovely car Chris.
The Vantage has always been a favourite of mine among the more modern Astons.

Is the colour a pale grey or blue? Hard to tell with the light playing off it.
Hi Ryan,
It is blue which they called Celeste blue and takes on a different hue depending on the light conditions. That photo was back in September at the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace when I was fortunate enough to display the car with 60 others of all ages from the Aston Martin Owners Club. The club watch in the Non CW of the Day thread was one which I organised (which took three years to organise but that's another story) with that watch being number 1 of 85 (to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the AMOC). Anyway I am off topic for this thread so thank you for appreciating my car!

They are such fantastic cars (IMO) and currently are great value (if you get a “sound” vehicle). Must have been heart wrenching moving it on. What year was your car?

Absolutely amazing car...best/nicest car that I ever owned.

It was a January 2007 / 56 plate 4.3L V8 Vantage manual.
WP_20151229_005.jpg
Custom paint colour of Giallo Evros Lamborghini Yellow.
I had the clear rear lights upgrade fitted.
Replaced the Aston Martin wing badges front and rear with the black background ones (as opposed to the green).
WP_20151229_018.jpg
Bought and fitted some chrome number plates surrounds.
Bought a second set of original wheels and had them refurbished and powder coated gloss black. I then fitted the yellow Rimblades scuffs rim protectors.
I also had the brake calipers re-painted to match the colour of the car.
Interior was black with yellow stitching.

All the AMOC events I attended I was always asked to park by the stand as opposed to the car park - such an eye catching car and always drew attention. It was pretty much mint condition as well.

I'd worked and saved really hard to buy this so it was absolutely gut wrenching and heartbreaking to have to let it go.

Correct. Not normally on its side but posting a portrait shaped image does it. Ho hum.

A shame you had to let it go but at least you got to enjoy your dream. Can see why they got you to move it next to the stand. Maybe the planets will align in the future and you could get the opportunity to get it back!

Absolutely spot on - yes I was lucky enough to have owned one and lived the dream.
Never say never - hopefully one day.

I’ve got a new (to me, at least) car inbound! It’s my dream retirement car, come three years early. The opportunity presented itself, so I hade to move on it.

Pics to come....

I’ll give a hint: a few forum members have owned (or own currently) this car, including me.

Is it a newer MX5 (I recall you already have a mk1 or 2)?

I traded in my ‘04 MX5 with 124k miles and the wear and tear to go with it for a ‘01 MX5 Special Edition with just 27k miles. This is the very Miata I have longed to have and would have searched out after retirement - British Racing Green with tan leather interior & wood trim; 6spd manual gearbox; low miles; clearly garage kept and babied because it’s in immaculate condition.

I stumbled across the listing quite by accident. It was local and the price was good. My wife said I’d be an idiot to pass it up, so I didn’t.
