Post by mike »

Mon dieu!

I assume it had run out of reserve, rather than actually being broken?

I see you lived in La Rochelle as well then! Everyone who did French at school seems to know that place. I blame those Tricolor books.

Bloody show off's with your second language skills!

Anyway this is very normal for the day dial to have French and English days...My Ball and a Citizen Diver are the same.

It's not really surprising when you realise that before "China woke up" around over 3/4's of the world speak either language as first or second
Watches - Too many but not enough!

Hmmm, not quite 3/4 but would say that if you factor in the world's third most spoken language then you're on to something. The days in Spanish and French are remarkably similar, to the extent that I have always thought of the "alternative" day thingy on watches as Spanish Mode rather than French!

The Day/Date on my LE works fine most of the time but occasionally, at midnight, it displays the French day and the date out of line with the window. By 8am it has corrected itself and works normally for several days before happening again.

Is this a common fault or have I got a collector's item.
