How about a C7 with a valjoux 7750 that is modified to add a cuckoo clock function. A little mechanical bird would come out of a hole on the watch dial to announce the hours. This will be a fine complication!

Maybe not. But the cuckoo bird would look sweet coated in superluminova.

Re: A poll - what should be the basis of our LE?
Re the question of why people would want an Auto C7, that's not necessarily what the results said. The movement question was seperate to the model, hence why there are 166 votes for an auto movement but only 72 votes for the C7!
It's technically possible that only 6 people voted auto & C7 and the other 66 voted C7 with handwinder, quartz or no pref...
just number-crunching, ignore me...
Phil
P.S.
Can someone remind me what the last question was? The results don't have a title, they just say:
Yes 199
No 11
No preference 22

I think it might be an idea for Chris to make prototypes based on the top two votes ,pass the pictures and specifications back to the forum and then we all vote again ,adding any last minute suggestions we might have......
Then we all place our orders like our lives depend on it !!

Just a quick question - when it becomes available, does every single member qualify to purchase if they get in quick enough, regardless of the length of their membership on the forum?
I only ask because I've been here for all of two days.

I think anyone will be able to my one, but unless your a forum member you wouldn't be aware that the watch was for sale, I think it is done on a first come first served basis, or as I like to say, if your not fast, your last, so there is likely to be a few disappointed memebers.

Although...just to be Devils Advocate or something....should length of time served/posts and therefore activity on the Forum etc be a consideration when it comes to allocating the LE? Should a newbie who joins the day the LE is released and has posted once be as equally entitled as a longer serving member, say with with 1000+ posts?
Just thought this might provoke an interesting discussion.....

I agree, however, "Christopher Ward" has zero posts! He shouldn't be allowed to have one!village wrote:Although...just to be Devils Advocate or something....should length of time served/posts and therefore activity on the Forum etc be a consideration when it comes to allocating the LE? S'all a bit pot luck isn't it. I agree though, it should be based on posts/time served etc... (and yes, I know I got my name down on the Stowa forum watch a day or so after joining that forum...)

Good idea, but announcing that rule would probably create some unintended behavior: First a lot of useless posts! New members could go in the gallery and add a trivial post to each thread: "Nice watch! Great photos!" Build up their count real fast. And it might create a market for selling CWL forum accounts on ebay (like gamers sell experienced character accounts). And some people might open several CWL forum accounts from different e-mails to build up posts and service time. Hmmm. It could be fun to create two imaginary characters and have them bicker about watch movements and strap styles.
