I have always taken the view that the high end brands would use 28,800 vph or higher if they thought that it was better overall. The point that they tend to stick with a lower vph for most of their movements tells us that faster isn’t always better.

Cheers Bern. Certainly clarified a few points about the UHF stuff.

A very enjoyable read. I have never been a fan of the higher beat movements purely because I prefer a slower tick. I live with the 28.8 of my CWs and Cartier because they are great watches and I’m used to them.
I prefer the 18 to 21.6 range, the latter being the Omega 1861 frequency. Much nicer to listen to.
But best of all is the seconds pendulum of a classic longcase clock.
Oh, and that Antoine Martin Slow Runner is insanely wonderful.
