One of the most interesting articles I have read in ages Bern, so many thanks!

The exploded diagram is staggering its complexity.

You really can see why these are as loved as they are. A truly different moment in a world full of variations on a theme.

Now Greggles, that movement ain't a patch on a Bremont trip tick case!!!!!!!

Joking aside, reading the article has certainly reawakened my interest in the 44mm GS SD diver.

Nick I have seem mentioned elsewhere that Seiko are opening a GS Boutique in London (I think Brompton Road) in April - so a chance to go and try a few on I reckon. :)

A mate bought the titanium SD diver. The quality of finishing is fantastic, and watching the second hand is mesmerizing.

Seeing this and looking at Richards Quartz version have really got me thinking.

Trouble is Bern, I have rather a few too many divers it would have to compete with my favourite three.

I think it could possibly replace the Planet Ocean though if push came to shove.

There is also the spring drive Landmaster that I rather like.

I likey , very nice Nick . I can see what you mean having other divers in the collection (the Rolex DSSD is awesome ) , but I think the l
Landmaster offers a completely different look , while still having the advantage of having a watch with a SD movement . I think its a good alternative to the diver Nick , worth thinking about

Nick I don't think you are looking at this with a correct perspective!

Since when have you worried about watches competing with each other, before buying a new shiny trinket. You will be logging details of how often you wear each watch next. Where will it all end!

Yes, now I know that this is not normally a concern, but I have probably 10 divers alone, never mind all the others and in all reality this is all getting a bit ridiculous.

I look at Scooter and his sub, and Guy with his one in, one out policy, and I can't help but think that they have a more healthy situation.

I tried one on a couple of years ago, and the big problem was the similarity to the DeepSea.

I shall however, certainly be paying a visit to the new GS boutique!

The whole GS scene is one that I am leaning towards more and more, and I think many others are also appreciating the astonishing quality.

Apologies Bern for derailing your thread!!!

A very healthy situation , I must admit  Is that where you would like to be Nick ? To be honest mate I didn't think you had 10 divers  But can see your dilemma  I think the Landmaster would fit in nicely IMVHO . I think if your leaning toward a GS , it could be a wise choice .

Until I can afford a Spring Drive, my Bulova Precisionist will have to do. The sweep is just, as you say, mesmerizing. (Not my video)
