The tuning fork watch is like no other battery driven watch , it is driven by a tuning fork vibrating at 300-700 times a second as a result it doesn't tick it hummms.This article gives some watch manufacturers who used these movements often allocating their own calibre numbers.

I have an Omega (F300Hz I think) it hums along quite nicely :thumbup:

Whatever one thinks of non mechanical watches, you cannot deny the contribution to horology of electrics.
