A happy compromise may be a default option of removing the images from any nested quote.....

Suggestion: Disable nested quotes

I use an iPad most of the time for forum use. One of its bugbears is hiding nested quoting. For one, I don't see the indented quotes, even when trimmed, so I take the time to selectively quote "inline" for multiple quotes (when I want them, and there are times I do), so myself and other tapatalk users can see what I'm referencing.

That doesn't take anywhere near as long as writing a couple of paragraphs. Why can't we educate ourselves to simply trim a quote. After all, some of the worst examples are simply quoting a ten paragraph post, complete with photos - only to post a one line reply. Setting nesting to 1 will not stop that from happening. Sometimes selective multi-quoting is a useful thing. Often enough not to remove that functionality I think...

Agreed! With Nick that is...

Also an example of why I think we sometimes need nested quoting - otherwise I'd have to look back up the thread to see what said **** was....

Ok, it's only two posts back, but making a point.
