I only heard about this from reading a thread on another forum. It seems that quite often if someone is buying from eBay and asks the seller for better pics, because they are not totally convinced, they may request photos of the watch next to a can of custard. Reason being that it is unlikely that a scammer would have access to a ready supply of pics of the watch with custard, if they had just lifted their for sale pics from another sellers post on the internet! :)

I would struggle on the custard front, but would normally be able to find a tin of tuna. :lol:

brilliant! does this mean that people in the 'real' world commonly have a tin of custard in the cupboard??? i must catch up! :D

I would argue that this simply shows "proof of possession".

As always, buy the seller. The greater the value of the purchase, the more you need to do so.

Yes, that was what I was suggesting.

I don't think the rules as currently drafted actually require a photograph.
