Scooter,
I'm not sure why you've got your knickers in a knot over this topic. The OP asked a question. You gave an ambiguous 4 word answer. The OP asks for some clarification, and you respond with a ridiculous reply about being 'interrogated'. You're not 'one of those people', but you are coming across like one on this thread. Sorry. OP's remarks were inappropriate, but he has retracted them and apologized, so can we get back to acting like adults and having a civilized discussion.
Personally, I'd be ok with a separate sales forum for non-watch related items. Here's a thought. A FB buy/sell group I'm a part of has 'garage sale' weekends. These weekends are the only time you can post non-related items. Maybe we could do the same thing here. The non-watch related sales forum could allow non-watch related items one weekend per month only.

p.s. what size and colour is the Saddleback?

Lavaine

I have just seen your post but have already discussed and satisfactorily resolved any misunderstanding with Robert via PM.

The PMs were and will remain private but you will be happy to know that I had accepted responsibility and apologised for my share of the flare up between us.

Absolutely nothing more than a misunderstanding that has been completely resolved.

Sorted like adults, and expected nothing less. Bravo chaps!

For me, I would not be adverse to select items being allowed for sale (such as pens, leather goods etc - many watch collectors seem to collect these too), but would rather not see 'garage sale' items such as 20 yr old cameras for sale on the forum.

We should either form a focus group to deal with such issues, or accept the exposure, or F stop talking about it. Sorry if I am hiding behind a film of ghastly puns...

I knew that I was setting myself up for a fall as soon as I hit the send button!

I remembered that there was a thread on here about collections of cameras, but it was too late!

Essentially I want to avoid the Craiglist/Gumtree threads that plague some other forums.c

Someone selling items that have some worth (not necessarily hugely expensive) is fine, someone offloading their old tat is not.

I am now going off to research cameras! :P

Scooter and Dads Glasses, I'm glad to hear this has been sorted out. I directed Robert to a possible outlet to sell his Saddleback bag other than eBay/Craigslist. I think it might be worth further discussion of how and if a non-watch sales forum should be set up. I definitely agree with Swegmina that certain luxury / collectible items would be of interest to some of the users here (including the above mentioned leather briefcase).

To be honest, this was the first time I became aware that there wasn't a sales area for 'non-watches'. As I'd noticed a couple of other items advertised.

Out of interest, is there a limit to the number of watch related items that can be sold by a member in x period? I would imagine something similar would certainly be needed should another sales sub-forum opened, just to restrict any 'dealers'.
