New Sections...

Post by Cirrus »

My suggestions for new sections;

1. Lost & Found, so there can be a record of watches that have gone astray

2. We Love Wera, in which we document why we do ;)

That is all ;)

I had one go astray in the post - one out of production - and informed CW about it as I suspect it has been - ahem - diverted by person or persons unknown and that at some point said persons might just return it to CW for a service.

Wera promised to have an eye kept out for it, offered to provide a replacement valuation for the claim (I hadn't even considered this) and went on to ask if I wanted her to see if there were any of this model squirrelled away in the labyrinths under CW Towers as a replacement. Always above and beyond the call of duty ;)

Is there any appetite, or maybe aversion, to a non-watch option in Sales Corner ? Not so you can sell bulk offers on toilet rolls, paper clips or dog food but perhaps specifically "Collectibles" ?

As watch collectors I'm fairly sure that in many cases this will not be our only "habit". We've had some stunning collecting hobbies shared over the years - Sci-Fi Dinky toys today :), "Mini-motors", F1 helmets to name but three... though perhaps these are not items that would be often offered for sale.... but there's also been reference to cuff links, good pens as well as the occasional "non-watch" items being offered in the Other Brands section and then there's potentially quality jewellery.

Ulterior motive on my behalf... hell yes ! I have some collectible coins that I plan to offload... unsurprisingly to boost the watch fund... and whilst they would no doubt ultimately end up on "the Bay", an option to offer them here has both potential buyer and seller benefit - no Bay fees for one, but perhaps more importantly I feel, a generally more trusted audience within the Asylum than the relative anonymity of commercal auction sites.

Same/similar rules to the current Sales Corner.... access restricted by the current mimum post rules, describe your item, name a price (i.e. no "bids"), and close off any deal via e-mail/private mail.... Simples !!

Good idea or bad ??

What about a few sub sections of "other brands?"

We have a number of knowledgeable collectors for Omega, Tissot, TAG Heuer etc and it would make it easier to find 'em.

I know there are sections for CW and non CW of the day for watches we own.
What about a section for posting images of interesting watches you've come across?
I see various images of watches as I trawl the net, some are nice some are not (IMO), but the more I see the more I have to choose from. People can then give their own opinions or experiences etc, without having to open a new thread each time.

Can we have an Impeccable Grammar and Spelling section where perfect English is mandatory? And no emoticons neither! :shock:
