LE and its first swim(not)

Post by Rick »

Took my daughter swimming this morning and thought it would be good to wear my LE Kingfisher for it first time in water.
You see lots of fathers wearing their Submariners and Omega Seamasters Etc.
Thought it would be good to let them oggle The Kingfisher,However, the more i thought about it the more worried i became.
To my knowledge no members have reported using theirs in water yet and was not wanting to be the first.
1:What if it sprang a leak
2:What effect would the chlorine have on the bead blasted surface
3:Lot of other things i probably shouldn't be worrying about.
I know this sounds silly but i would rather use my Seamaster as there are thousands of them around and if i damage it i can always get another.
I guess the point i,m making is to me my LE is worth more to me then a 1200 pound watch because it's one of only 100 and if i ruin it i can't get another.

So i used my trusty old Seiko Monster instead, sad git that i am

Listen you old woman, get it in the water and stop being a TART!!. I'll be happy to do the honours for you. whats the worst that can happen, It'll get a bit wet. It's guarenteed.

Poor old Chris is sitting there night after night to give you these fine time pieces, he would be very upset if he read that you dont think he's given you a watch that can't stand a little swim. So to summerise then, what your saying is you have no confidence in CW watches and your scared to take the plunge (So to speak)
I so wish i had one that i could put though it's paces, I'd ware it on site everyday and take it swimming and i bet i twould handle it all no problem.

Chris if your reading this, have a word and put there scared little whiney minds to rest :kopfwand:

I hereby offer my services as the official CW watch tester, you send em and i'll test em to within an inch of there lives.

I swim every week and can assure you all that the Kingfisher LE can handle it without any issues, although I must admit that our swimming-pool is less then 1000 ft deep.. :)

Good answer Jaydog- Chris would be upset knowing his limited edition diver was not getting wet!!!

Anybody have any thoughts on extra lume. I am tempted to send mine out and have some superlume applied to the hands. Any thoughts???

I have several divers and I'm not afraid letting them into the water.
But the only water they ever see is a little rain when I step out of my car or when I wash my hands.
