LE clasp material

Post by Nico »

Hello guys,

First, the good news: Today, my LE #35 arrived \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

Looking at the clasp (it was not assembled) I recognize, that it has a IPK finish    It has a black colour !!!!!!

Do your clasps also have an IPK finish?

No, mine didn't have a IPK.

My guess: CWL ran out of normal clasps, and added an IPK-clasp that is used for the normal IPK Kingfisher. They should have asked if you where o.k. with this!

That is my guess too, Hans. Another possibility is that it was just a mistake.

I told Margaret the problem via mail. I don't like this solution, because the clasp should fit to the case IMHO. I hope that the guys of CW will send me the correct clasp.

By the way: The LE looks great ! :D

I agree Nico, CWL should send you a steel version, which they will certainly do. Then you can use the IPK-clasp as a reserve! :)

Month ago, I had a problem with my Aviator: I lost one screw of the case back. I don't know when and why. I told Chris the problem and Wera sent ma a couple of replacement screws within a few days.

That is customer service!

I think he will send me a replacement clasp, and for me it would be no problem to send the IPK clasp back to Chris.

A few minutes ago, Maragret told me via mail, that the rubber strap comes with a black clasp !!

I don't think so, because Hans has posted pictures of the yellow C6 with a steel clasp fitting to the colour of the case.

No, I don't think so. The IPK clasp is made of steel, but with another finish.

But IMHO the steel clasp looks better, because it fits to the case.

EDIT: Look at this picture (source: Hans):

Mine also came with a black clasp which IMO matches the rubber strap and watch very well, so not really worried one way or the other 8)

If you look on the CWL website, all the regular C6's with rubber straps are reserve only, so they must have run out. Maybe the silver ones ran out first and they are sending the black ones in their place as LE buyers have been waiting longer than anticipated anyway. Telling porkies about it is not very good though. (There would be a smilie here wagging his finger dissaprovingly but my computer's not playing!)

Mine also has the black clasp which i'm not too worried about as long as it doesn't scratch easily. The steel would have looked better though.
