What kind of clasps on the Steel bracelet?

Post by andy1100xx »

Sorry if this has been asked before somewhere but does anyone know what design the clasp will be on the steel bracelets?

Given that this is a dive watch I was hoping that the bracelets would have a more secure design than the current models (i.e. with a fold over lock) and have a dive suit extension.

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy,
Seeing as Chris is a keen diver i would be a little surprised if the Kingfisher did not come with a dive suit extension, however,i to would like to know this as i have not seen it mentioned unless i missed it. 8)

The website says: "NB:This model has a fully adjustable 22mm steel bracelet."

I asked Chris about the bracelet because my aviator bracelet didn't fit well.
He told me this is the same bracelet as the peregrines, there's no fine adjustment and no divers extension.
So I think I have to wait for the half-links to be produced before it will fit well.
I've heard more people about the lack of fine adjustment of the CW-bracelets.

I hope the half-links will be produced soon, but maybe it is an idea for Chris to put clasps on the bracelet with the possibility of fine adjustment.

Thanks John,
For me this is not a problem as i only go skinny dipping but the dive suit boys will be less fortunate. 8) :D

The missing of the divers extension is not a problem for me too, but the missing fine adjustment is.
I like my bracelets to fit very well, not too tight and not too wide.
That's a problem with the CW bracelets as you can only remove complete links.

Well I had major problem with the Corax bracelet, so I have gone for a leather one. Can't have the watch coming off when diving!

Mmmm...that's a shame. I'm actually not too worried about the extension as I only wear thin suits anyway but the lack of secure locking is a bit of a problem. I was going to go for both the rubber and the bracelet but maybe I'll just get the rubber (which does have the flip lock) and get a generic dive bracelet from somewhere.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I don't think the bracelet of the KF will loosen easily.
You have to push both pushers before the clasp loosens, this is not going accidentally I think.
I'll let you all know how it goes in daily use.......

My bracelet on the Red Peregrine has opened 'accidently' on a few occasions, luckily I've felt it each time.

Does anyone know if the finish on the steel bracelet with the Forum LE differs from the Red Peregrine, I've just had a thought that I may end up with 2 of the same bracelets!!!!!
Cheers,
Adam.

Same here.
If you bend your wrist, you do accidentally operate both pushers.

Funnily enough, it has yet to happen with the C5 GKG, which has a similar mechanism.
