Using Christopher Ward London Limited as a comparison Companies House state:
32120 - Manufacture of jewellery and related articles
47910 - Retail sale via mail order houses or via Internet
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

Chris,

I guess that’s the best way to get a feel for what it might mean, I should have done that.😟
Wonder how defining those categories are?

Interesting times on the way...

Cheers

I could imagine that CW may have objected to Ward Bros. Tribus is a great alternative with a hidden meaning.

Both registered on 20th March - worth checking every so often and of course ward-bros.com, but that may have been canned.

tribus-watches.co.uk
tribus-watches.com
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

Any clue for those of us who don't know what it means (i may be the only one, of course :) ). I have Googled it, but the search returns don't align with the context.
Thanks

Could have a number of interpretations”

Unus e tribus - one out of three. I.e a reference to CW as one of the three founders of the company he left.

Or if just looking at tribus - could be a nod to the masses.

I imagine a Latin scholar will be along shortly! :)

Could also be Chris, James and Jonathon (I'm guessing his sons/tribe) - the three founders. I appreciate Wera is listed, but I'm sure Chris is involved.
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

That was how I saw it, Neil. Though it didn’t register until Caller mentioned it.

It's all pure guesswork of course, but surely any new company should be branded with a view to the future and aspiration, rather than have a pop at a previous venture!

Seeing as it started as Ward Bros., I am guessing it refers to the 3 sons, Jake, James and Jonathon.

Agree for Ward-Bros, but Jake resigned on 14th January.

Actually that would be more logical. Tribus means tribe as well as "from three". I was probably over-reading it.

Chris and Wera certainly like the letter "J". Maybe the IHM wasn't named after Johannes Jahnke after all!
