Ah, our similar tastes meet again!!downer wrote:Also nice.
I think this is my favourite of the three...
It reminds me of an American pool table I think, but then that's no bad thing!
Ideal number of watches in your collection = current number of watches + 1...

Re: New C70s
My first view of them and that Grand Epreuve (France) looked the best to me.
But then again for £1,800 you can buy the set.
Still cheaper than a single Omega, Breitling, Tag etc (most them anyway).

Imagine that set in a nice wooden case with a glass lid. Now that would be nice to own!ianblyth wrote:

Re: New C70s
Yes, then you would have a "nice" collection of bog standard quartz chronographs with slightly different colours on them!!!
Watches - Too many but not enough!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. You Sir, are an out-and-out watch snob! (and you are getting worse)!paw3001 wrote:Yes, then you would have a "nice" collection of bog standard quartz chronographs with slightly different colours on them!!!

Re: New C70s
The first three are in the Nearly New for £209. Is that close enough?
I like automatics but I have no problems with quartz if it is nice enough. I am having trouble seeing why I should pay thousands for a quartz from those big brands in the high street jewlers. Which is where CWL comes in.

Re: New C70s
I think the set looks a lot better than the indivdual watches, makes more sense when you can see them all together. Wonder how many collectors will get all six, you would neen to be a very keen Formula 1 fan as well as a WIS.
No more Quartz (except when I cannot resist).

These do need to be collected a set - free with petrol would be the only way I'd be able to do it though.

Re: New C70s
OK so quartz are more accurate than mechanical watches but they have no real clockwork which has to be the most eco - friendly machine ever built by Man.downer wrote:I've said it before and I'll say it again. Nothing inherently wrong with quartz watches, they just don't do it for me. In fact I find them downright boring and dull, that's all. All fluff and no real substance, a Ferrari with a Smart car's engine!
Plus I'm a mechanical watch snob too

Re: New C70s
There are some good-lookers in the new batch.
But...I'm with those who say it's a notch too pricey. £220-£240 may be, but not £299.

It can be £240 when you use the 20% voucher code...MorrisOx wrote:There are some good-lookers in the new batch.
