Chat with Chris - 2015

Post by Kip »

It is time for our annual "Chat with Chris". Christopher Ward has generously offered his time again to spend with the forum.

We have agreed on a date that works. The "Chat with Chris 2015" will be held on Wednesday August 5th.

The chat will start at GMT 21:00 and will last for approximately 1 hour (we usually go longer).

Last year we tried 10 preselected questions, but found this ran to long before opening up the chat. This year I will ask only 5. We will start the Chat with the 5 questions. I will ask the questions and Chris can answer without interruption. We will then go to an open chat where you can ask anything you wish. We feel that you may actually be able to get more questions and answers with this format.

I have started a thread here to post your questions. The top 5 questions and/or the ones of most interest to everyone are the ones that I will ask Chris. Please have your questions posted by August 2nd. I will post the list of 5 questions that will be asked so you can have any others you may have ready to go.

If you are unable to attend and have a specific or general question that you do wish to post, please send me a pm and I will make every effort to get your question in if time permits. No guarantees..but I will try.

As in the past, we are anticipating some talk about CWs trip to Basel, the upcoming new models (perhaps some revelations), as well as CWLs future plans.

All our prior chats have been very enjoyable, most informative and very well attended.

UK time is GMT +1 = 22:00

EDT time is GMT -4 = 17:00

For anyone that may be confused about the time zone...try this link.

We realize that the time will not suit everyone, but it really is the best we can do for the majority of time zones we cover as well as coordinating with the busy schedule of the boss.

I hope we see you all there.

The chat will be available via the "Mini-chat" link on the index page.

A transcript of the chat will be available and posted within a few days of the chat.

Good to hear and see this Kip.

Looking forward to it very much, as in previous years.

I really enjoyed the chat session with Chris last night. However, there were times when it all got a bit confusing with overlapping questions and answers. Is there any way for next year to add some sort of threads to the chat so that each topic has its own discussion.?

A better idea might be to have a moderator approve every chat, to slow things down a bit. They could chair the meeting, and so keep the discussion to one topic at a time.

It's like that every year.

Despite Kip's frequent reminders on here beforehand about non interuptions during the early Q and A round, I can't be the only one who wanted to post a facepalm when the first Interuptee piped up.

He only signed up to the forum 2 hours before asking the question, so you have to wonder what he was hoping to achieve?
