C8IPK Blackhawk status

Post by Kip »

For those of you considering ordering a C8 Blackhawk I would not delay long. During a recent conversation with Wera I inquired as to the current status.

Her Response....
"C8IPK is entirely sold out now of the initial qty we had in………approx. 100, and the waiting list growing daily…….. ….. …..I think in total 200 were ordered… My guess approx. 50 left….."

Thought you guys might like to know.

Excuse the ignorance of a CW Newbie

I am surprised that when the LE is being advertised as a limited run of 200 watches that it is being communicated to you that CW is not sure if 200 are being ordered or not? Could this imply that in fact more will be produced?

Does that mean that LEs are not all that they are cracked up to be?

It's not uncommon for some orders of CW watches to be cancelled at a later date by customers mainly due to delay in both production and delivery. The email is confusing but they won't produce anymore than the stated 200 as it's a LE.

Just my personal opinion on this LE, not special enough to warrant the extra cost over the others in the C8 range.

i also agree. it looks mostly like any other C8 with the exception of the black rim.

It's not as markedly different, as say the C5 Aviator is from the standard C5.

The premium price for the black C8 is partly for the limited edition exclusivity, but also for the added cost of the physical vapor deposition process. I got the black one since I didn't have an all-black watch yet. I think it does make it stand out some from other pilot watches on the market. But I was sorry I had to also pay extra for special exclusivity. I figure I'll be the only guy in town with a C8 of any color. At least the markup is only 74 pounds. I suppose I could have put the savings toward a Lidl and a Herc if I had been more frugal!

A C4IPK is only £5 more than a standard C4SKS and there is more IPK on a C4 because of the metal strap.

A C7 LE is £54 more than a standard C7

So being really picky and taking the 2 things into consideration the Black Hawk is still overpriced.

True, it's all relative for pricing.

I guess the market will bear the price for the Black Hawk since it's apparently almost sold out. Maybe CWL should raise the price of the standard C8's so there is not such a large premium for the Black Hawk.

I like your logic and guess that future customers won't be that keen.

I'd be interested to know if anyone from CW could or would be willing to explain the pricing differentials as set out by Vista above.

That said I have still ordered my Blackhawk LE

Sadly as of 30th January still awaiting my C8 Blackhawk - only be advised in resply to my email to Lois (note NOT CWL explaining delays as a courtesy to full paid up customers) that these have been once again further delayed.

Not really a happy bunny at the moment - feel like CWL have my money but not vaule my custom.

Orders may have been up 150% last year but if you treat new customers like this those sales figures will fall.

Andy, this is terrible. Sorry you've had to wait so long for your watch. I'm sure CWL is working overtime to resolve the matter and get people their watches.

In the meantime, here's a pic that should make everything better.

Thanks El Tiempo - I can only hope that that is truly the case.
