Aug 1 update

Post by Kip »

A bit of news from CWL.... Chris has not disappeard he is just snowed under....A partial quote from Wera on the current goings on.

"Yes, extremely busy with the Swiss change over….and the launch of the new watches on the web, first ones to go live on the web this Friday I am told…..not 100% sure which ones yet…likely the C8, and 2 others… We have also been photographing all the new styles, and preparing a brochure, and on top of that there was a press launch last week to all the News Papers / magazines that took Chris out of circulation for a bit."

Not 100% definitive, but good news nonetheless.

Hi Kip

Good news indeed, the C8 may soon be mine!

I'm taking from your posting that CWL will be going live with the new styles straight away and not taking pre-orders?

Cheers

It would seem Sam, that pre orders will not be happening...but I wouldn't say that for sure. Chris is under a lot of pressure to get this all right so he may not follow thru with this step as hinted at before. Looks as though it might just be a general release.

Any ideas on time frame for the C8 appearing today? I am just about to place an order for my best man (getting married next week on Saturday) and now wondering if I should hold off a minute...

Additionally those that say for "Mid August Delivery" - C5A range in particular, would I be likely to see one for next week? I just realised that near enough every watch that I fancied is on pre-order only

Edit:
C5's (and anything else marked as pre-order apparently) are looking at the end of the month or early September rather than mid-August. They also appear to have a big shortage of models and/or parts. I had a "short" list of 6 models all of which where not available until next month (mainly the C4's) and was told they had no C4SS (Silver faced), so went back to the website. Made another list of items and called back again. Only to be told the C4SST was in stock, to be honest I would have hoped the first lady I spoke to would have known that too, she only could offer me the C4SRS - some £100+ more, different face and braclet strap - not really similar.

As I needed to get the order in today to make sure I definately have it in hand for my big day, so a C4SST it is

The latest snippet from Wera......

"Yup all looking good for the weekend….not all new styles will be launched on the website Friday Night ( UK TIME ) / Saturday, only a few, and then more to follow the coming weeks, I don’t know which styles in which order, but do know the C8 is on Friday;s release…."
"..……A lot of excitement in the air…...the new watches look STUNNING !" :D

Thats all I have for now, but I am told everyone is working around the clock to get this launched.

I will be away from the computer until about 3 or 4 EDT. but will follow up asap with anything that comes up when I get back. Hang on boys. The "Asylum" should be rocking soon!

Hi All

FYI - Just spoke to customer services today and was told that the planned launch of the new and improved CW range is planned for 15th-16th August.

Can't wait to see the C8!

Cheers

I'm confused...
Does this mean the launch of the new range is delayed in entirety till 15/16th August, or that the C8 (plus some others?) will be available from Friday/Saturday?

Even the missus is getting impatient now!!
If you can read this you are too close to your computer screen....

All I can say is that the lady I spoke to said that the new watches would be available from 15/16th August. I am now assuming nothing new this weekend! :(
