Re: COSC Report 2011
Hmm. Imagine how much money you could make certifying to ISO if your observatory was in, say, Greenwich or Rugby.
A certificate from a Swiss, German or French lab doesn't do much for me, but I would take notice of one stamped "London"

COSC Report 2011
Bremont doesn't surprise me, they have a stockpile of movements with a COSC certificate to last them a few years I reckon. Given that they won't be allowed to certify movements that aren't in 'Swiss made' watches and their direction of travel of having a manufacture movement it makes sense. Bear in mind that IWC don't certify at all, and it's a pointless certification anyway as you don't certify the movement in its watch.Dancematt wrote:and the others being that Bremont only had 1000 watches certified, thought it would be higher.

Kew observatory used to do testing of Swiss watches to a higher standard than COSC and watches that passed were held in high regard within horology.Cirrus wrote:Hmm. Imagine how much money you could make certifying to ISO if your observatory was in, say, Greenwich or Rugby.

Same here. COSC for me would be an added cost rather than a necessityasqwerth wrote:Since I wear a watch no more than 2 to 3 days in a row (if at all!) before I rotate and move to another watch, the mechanical watches I have are accurate enough for me.

Tag Heuer have lost the plot.
If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

It will be interesting to compare the 2012 report when it is released.

Any ideia when that might be?Kip wrote:It will be interesting to compare the 2012 report when it is released.
And am i the only one that think that Tag's number might be off? Only 559 COSC watches in a year? Also no IWC or JLC on the list, i realy thought that they were certified...
Anyone got a source for this report?

Re: COSC Report 2011
IWC and JLC don't certify, IWC have their own standards of 0-5secs/day.Sifion wrote:Any ideia when that might be?Kip wrote:It will be interesting to compare the 2012 report when it is released.

Re: COSC Report 2011
JLC has their own more demanding test, running for a total of 1000 hours. They test the whole watch, not just an uncased movement.
