Bracelet Sharing

Post by nowttolose »

Does the Super Compressor and Dartmouth share the same bracelet.

Reason I ask is I have a Super Compressor on a strap, and would like to add a Dartmouth to my collection at some point.

I figured that if they shared the same bracelet, I could buy one with the Dartmouth and also use if for my Super Compressor.

Does all the C65 with the same size head share the same bracelet? And does that then repeat for the C60 and C63 range.

Thanks in advance.
Dave

Not really. The end links are different. Same for the C65 Chrono. That has different end links too. It is true that the C65 Dartmouth shares a bracelet with the C65 GMT for example. I think it is also true with the C60s and C63s as long as they are the same lug width (20, or 22).

Top is C65/Dartmouth. Bottom is the SC.

Thanks for the information and photo

Dang it. There goes my plan down the toilet.

I’d have thought they may have standardised the C65 bracelet end links like they have for the C60 of the same case size.

But, apparently not!

The Super Compressor has a cushion case design. I think the short stubby lugs are to accommodate the internal bezel. The chronos are just thicker.

The SC, C60 and the Dartmouth for comparison.

Can anyone verify this? It may push me into my second CW purchase

Keep in mind I was talking about the clasp and links at the bracelet. The end links are very different.

Does this mean that I wouldn’t be able to attach the 20mm C63 bracelet to a 20mm C60 watch?

I think that is correct. If you look there are models for both the C60 at 20mm and the C63 at 20mm indicating that the end links are different. Which would be consistent because the C60 case is 38 or 40 mm and the C63 is 39mm.

Resurrecting this thread as I just received my C63 auto on strap, and had a go with it on my bracelets for the 38mm C60 and 40mm C60. All are 20mm.

And guess what? Looks like a good fit!

Top pic is the C63 with the bracelet for the 40mm C60. I think this is a slightly better fit than the 38mm bracelet, pictured on bottom.

I had suspected this would work, since the bracelets seem to be interchangeable between the 38/40mm C60s with barely any way to tell.

The marking on C63 bracelet states C60-39, so it seems you are correct even in theory. ;)

Well that’s interesting… Maybe points to CW planning a 39mm C60?

Also interesting to see the improvements/changes to the bracelet. Mine have 2 screws where yours has one.

The 40mm bracelet just says “40”, and the 38mm bracelet which is older has no markings.

Very clever. Just shows what can be done with a little experimentation.
