I still have access to the prototype sale as of this morning. Still 3 watches up there, including that super tempting C65 SH21. The wife said no though :( Price is still a bit steep at $1500 and change.

What does the description say ?
Is it just a #000 of the final production spec prototype ?

Yes, looks to be that way. It doesn’t note any differences from production, just notes that it is a 000 prototype and is sold without the COSC certificate.

When one considers the “one of a kind” nature of some of the preproduction prototypes that then didn’t go into production, one would think the actual cost of producing a single model is greater than the price CW has sold these watches for. If my thinking is correct on that, it’s admirable how CW sells them at a production watch price. I imagine the cost of developing prototypes is built into the budgeting for R&D, so any return on the watch being sold is a bonus.

What I would add though... my recently acquired C1 Grand Malvern 5 Day Automatic, was also from this sale and listed as #000 serial, with no COSC certificate. Price wise it wasn't really a massive discount (if any at all). However, it's absolutely immaculate in condition and comes with a full 5 year warranty. So as I was looking for this model anyway (and they aren't readily available), it was a good deal :D

I would say the same is true for this C65 SH21... if you want this model and want to get it direct from CW, this is possibly the last opportunity

I lost access to the prototypes page, as many did. I feel a touch greedy even thinking of what remains. Especially as I’m really not in a position to be buying anything currently. :D But one can dream.

Thanks, again, to the team for making this special event happen.

Nope. Tried popping the link, going back through my account and all to no avail.

Interesting to note one or two "not as shown in the advert" comments; I've had a similar experience with a C60 GMT in a bronze case. The advert showed a patinated case whereas what arrived would pass for a new copper plumber's fitting: really fully orange. It is patinating for being out of the box but it has yet to win my heart....

UPDATE: the watch is going back.

I've had that sale page open in a tab from day one and until today there were still three watches on there, but looks like someone has at last managed to get through and buy that prototype (#000) Trident SH21 LE... and it wasn't me, I already have one and it's going nowhere

These two still showing as available, assuming someone can get through :problem:

So I can finally give a proper update on this.

The C60 Trident GMT MK3 Red Bezel Prototype is on it's way to me today :D
Just a small mix up at CW who in fairness were excellent in sorting everything out for me.

Looking forward to receiving it, hopefully tomorrow.

It should be someone on here as it was a Forum Exclusive Sale

I'm trying to remember who it is, who has it as I have seen pictures a few days ago.

The dial, by the way, is silver not white.
